Fantastic large original lamp – all working – pat tested and ready to go – originally designed by George Carwardine for Herbert Terry Inspired by the constant tension principle of human limbs, He developed a lamp which could be both flexible and stable, like a human arm.
Let there be light
Pat tested and ready to go – brilliant functional design – all original and working perfectly. Great piece that will always be collectable and is sure to increase in value. Its marked and stamped by the Herbert Terry factory and is all original. A superb light for the home that will sit behind your favourite chair. The robust design allows the lamp to extend and yet remain completely stable.
We have some other lamps from 1950 made by photex for photography but now rewired for household use – I will be adding new images later tonight.

Just in – these reupholstered and refurbished Manhattan recliners By Guy Rogers – Designed by George Fejer and Eric Phamphilon.
Manufactured in 1961 – they draw from Danish deigns of the period and are very elegant chairs – they recline by simply lifting up the front seat and have three settings. Really easy to use.
Frames are teak and the fabric is a blue velvet – both chairs have been professionally upholstered. I am selling the pair for £600 or £350 individually – they are a bargain at this price and I don’t expect them to hang around for long.

I can’t watch the weather reports anymore – they’ve run out of words to describe all the variables – causing me to run out of exasperated expressions. What exactly is a flabby low front and how can it be avoided ? The other beauty is the term likelihood – Today there is a likelihood for snow, rain, high wind, hail, sunshine all possibly at the same time emanating from a sphincter shaped cloud – wear everything you’ve got – all the time.
In the likelihood that your reading this then pat yourself triumphantly on the back – you made it through Xmas and the last 14 weeks of soul sapping weather ( ok you had a couple of fun days sledging but that just papered over the cracks ) We all need spring to re-energise us and lift our outlook.
We’ve been busy – January – February we rebuilt our kitchen ( it was the weather for it ) and in-between we bought and sold some cracking items. We’ve had a re-jiggle in the shop as we waved goodbye to some of our favourites – the NSM Prestige jukebox being one of them (every home should have one) just turning it on made the internal sun come out. But just as we sigh and wonder where the hell we can find some super charged oddities – the cosmos beams us down some eyebrow raising fresh finds that raises our heart rate to levels that makes us worry about cheese, wine & cholesterol….
We are awash with upholstery jobs – from makers such as Gillows, Guy Rogers, Ercol, G Plan and many others. In stock at the moment is some lovely mid century furniture such as nests of G Plan tables – coffee tables, Ercol dining sets and armchairs. These designs have already stood the test of time and are still a cheap alternative to buying new.
We have also got some barn find very large abstract art – artist unknown, but who cares – leave the big names for the empty eyed hedge funders – you can’t beat owning an original one off that you bought because you wanted it on your wall.
More and more of our stock is selling on Facebook and Instagram – so be sure to follow us on both of those or if you prefer just go all out analogue and visit the shop or phone us.
We can deliver so please be sure to get a quote – we deliver to London once every two weeks.
The shop is looking splendid and is full of stock – so please do come and visit us soon.

Stunning Grey Chesterfield – refurbished to a very high standard – pictured school desk coffee table. Settee £950 – coffee table £70
Currently hunting down new pieces for our showroom in Clitheroe – here are a few items from our current stock. Really pleased with how this Chesterfield has turned out – it was a red leather number ( picture below ) that was in some serious distress & not the good kind! Our original plan was to repair it but that wasn’t possible. So we stripped it back and completely refurbished it and reupholstered. The result is a stunning settee that’s ready to go for another 30 years.
Other nice pieces include a large robust Indian rosewood cabinet – formerly used as a gin cabinet ! I have to admire the former owners verve & gusto ! Its a very heavy piece of furniture with brilliant hand carved detail.
I have also found a superb ex school cupboard made from pitch pine – its got great potential and would make a great kitchen cupboard.
I still have 21 atomic style coat hooks – all original from 1957 – see below. I will sell individually ( I only have 5 left with numbers )
If you have any enquires then please do phone 07756211120
