Just in – these reupholstered and refurbished Manhattan recliners By Guy Rogers – Designed by George Fejer and Eric Phamphilon. Manufactured in 1961 – they draw from Danish deigns of the period and are very elegant chairs – they recline by simply lifting up the front seat and have three settings. Really easy to use. Frames are teak and the fabric is a blue velvet – both chairs have been professionally upholstered. I am selling the pair for £600 or £350 individually – they are a bargain at this price and I don’t expect them to hang around for long. Sheraton style two seated sofa – completely refurbished and reupholstered in beautiful linen floral fabric. Circa 1875 – stamped and numbered. Its a stunning sofa coil sprung seat and back on an inlaid mahogany frame by one of the periods top furniture makers – we think we have given it a fresh twist that makes this piece a rare one off. I will be fitting the brass castors back on this week. The photographs show a cushion seat that we have had made – the sofa is sprung seated so this is just an added extra should you want to use it. This is an incredibly rare sofa – the last one we had was sold in Liberty’s of London for over £3000 – This exceptionally beautiful piece is £1750 direct from us.
I can’t watch the weather reports anymore – they’ve run out of words to describe all the variables – causing me to run out of exasperated expressions. What exactly is a flabby low front and how can it be avoided ? The other beauty is the term likelihood – Today there is a likelihood for snow, rain, high wind, hail, sunshine all possibly at the same time emanating from a sphincter shaped cloud – wear everything you’ve got – all the time. In the likelihood that your reading this then pat yourself triumphantly on the back – you made it through Xmas and the last 14 weeks of soul sapping weather ( ok you had a couple of fun days sledging but that just papered over the cracks ) We all need spring to re-energise us and lift our outlook. We’ve been busy – January – February we rebuilt our kitchen ( it was the weather for it ) and in-between we bought and sold some cracking items. We’ve had a re-jiggle in the …
Currently hunting down new pieces for our showroom in Clitheroe – here are a few items from our current stock. Really pleased with how this Chesterfield has turned out – it was a red leather number ( picture below ) that was in some serious distress & not the good kind! Our original plan was to repair it but that wasn’t possible. So we stripped it back and completely refurbished it and reupholstered. The result is a stunning settee that’s ready to go for another 30 years. Other nice pieces include a large robust Indian rosewood cabinet – formerly used as a gin cabinet ! I have to admire the former owners verve & gusto ! Its a very heavy piece of furniture with brilliant hand carved detail. I have also found a superb ex school cupboard made from pitch pine – its got great potential and would make a great kitchen cupboard. I still have 21 atomic style coat hooks – all original from 1957 – see below. I will sell individually ( …
